Even More Cause for Concern by Janus Kane

It is sad to see that conservatives are still resorting to propaganda and personal attacks on the President and his administration. They are playing on people’s fear and creating hysteria.

I watched a Youtube video yesterday on a military presence in Ohio. What it amounted to was roughly 5 minutes of footage watching soldiers directing traffic. There was no threatening action, no guns were drawn and no one was accosted. It seemed clear that these soldiers were just there to support local law enforcement (for whatever reason). Periodically, the videographer would insert hyperbole that implied the military was there to force people to get vaccinated, but there was no visual evidence of that. There was even mention of concentration camps.

I wish that the conservatives would see how these attempts to panic people are causing a huge rift between Americans. Trying to push your neighbor into hysteria is cruel and counterproductive. What I find most offensive are the attempts to draw parallels between Obama’s presidency and Hitler’s regime. Come on people. This man is an elected official. He has been working non-stop, since his inauguration, to cure the imbalance that is plaguing our economy. If Obama is guilty of anything, it is being overly ambitious. Perhaps he has tried to tackle too much at once – that remains to be seen, but at least he is taking action, something that the previous administration cannot say.

I would hope that the conservatives can put their anger aside and start working together. That is what this country is all about, isn’t it?

  1. It’s so maddening to hear this sort of thing from conservatives after the eight years of excesses from Bush, during which they were largely silent and/or supportive of the president’s agendas–which included moves to bring the military into law-enforcement, if I recall correctly. So in reality, their supposed upset over this should be directed at Bush-era policies, not the current administration. These people lack any credibility. If they truly wanted to draw a parallel between a president and fascism, they missed their opportunity by one administration. Really, they need to shut up and go educate themselves.

    • I can’t agree more. Conservatives were so complacent while watching Bush stumble through his terms.

I really don’t want to get down in the mud and have a knockout, dragout on who is the better president. History will write itself. I wish the conservatives would just dial down the anger and the personal attacks on the man we have elected to lead our country. They are creating an unhealthy divide. If it continues like this, we will have another civil war on our hands.

  2. PLEASE stop lumping Conservatives into ONE BIG PILE. Some Liberals are doing JUST as much to create a divide. BOTH sides of the political aisle – Democrats and Republicans – are stirring the pot. It is NOT one-sided. I am offended when people try to put ALL Conservatives into one category. That is like saying ALL white people are racist against blacks or that ALL men are pigs. Please try not to generalize when making comments. Thank you.

    • Tracy, I hear you. I realize that not all conservatives are actively trying to spread propaganda about Obama or create hysteria about government forced vaccinations. Unfortunately, if you are going to avoid qualifying every word you say (and who has time for that?) you have to resort to generalities from time to time. I don’t believe that all conservatives are bent on causing a rift between the parties, but I do believe that many of them are finding it much too easy to accept all things bad about the current administration, while turning a blind eye to anything good. I have never seen a party divide like this before in my lifetime, hopefully I won’t see it again. When politicians are openly calling the president a liar and town meetings are ending in violence, that is just not healthy for the country.

I personally do not believe that the Liberals are doing as much to create this divide. That is my personal belief and I stand by it. Does that mean that there are not Liberals out there who are just as anxious to raise their fists and fill the room with catcalls? No. I just hope that people can start talking sanely to one another again, so that we can focus on dealing with the issues that matter.
